Visa & Healthcare

All INNOTISSUE students will live and study in at least two different EU countries throughout their education. Therefore, understanding visa requirements and health insurance coverage is essential for a smooth academic journey.

🛂 Visa Guidance

The INNOTISSUE consortium offers comprehensive visa support for both EU and non-EU students:

  • Non-EU students will need to apply for national student visas for each country they will reside in (TĂĽrkiye, Romania, Spain).
  • EU students may still be required to register their residence in each host country.

Students will receive:

  • Official admission letters and supporting documents for visa applications
  • Templates for financial proof, accommodation confirmation, and insurance documentation
  • Assistance from the International Offices of each host university

✉ Each partner institution will act as a liaison with local embassies and consulates to ensure timely processing of visa applications.

🌍 Country-Specific Notes

  • TĂĽrkiye (YTU – Istanbul):
Non-EU students need a Turkish student visa before arrival. Residency permits are arranged after entry with university support.
  • Romania (UPB – Bucharest):
Visa applications are submitted to the Romanian consulate in the student’s home country. Support with appointment booking and document preparation will be provided.
  • Spain (UIC – Barcelona):
Depending on nationality, a student visa or EU registration certificate may be required. UIC’s International Office will guide all incoming students.

🏥 Health Insurance

Health insurance is mandatory throughout the entire programme duration. The INNOTISSUE programme ensures:

  • Full coverage for Erasmus Mundus students, including:
    • Medical treatment (including emergencies)
    • Accidents and personal liability
    • Repatriation and evacuation services
  • Additional support for students with chronic conditions or disabilities
  • Help with registering in national healthcare systems (where required)

đź“„ Insurance policy details and claim procedures will be explained during the orientation sessions and available in the Student Portal.

đź’ˇ Need-Based Support

For students who face difficulties due to visa rejections, delays, or health concerns, the Student Support Committee will offer:

  • Contingency planning and academic flexibility
  • Extended deadlines and alternative travel arrangements
  • Emergency response coordination if needed

By combining proactive coordination, local expertise, and personalized support, the INNOTISSUE consortium ensures that students are safe, insured, and legally supported throughout their European learning journey.
